| Our Advantage |
Why important foreign-related legal documents need to be translated by professional lawyer team with rich practical experience of Chinese law, excellent English skills, and well master of Chinese and Western culture and law to secure the correctness of the translation?
The course of any transaction begins with a legal document, whether it is a formal agreement or an intent letter, which may bring great commercial interests to the company as well as great potential risks. In Western countries with common law tradition, transactions are greatly dependent on the agreements of both parties, and the contracts play a very important role in trade procession, as there is no integrative statute law like those civil law countries. The West companies seek to make all potential issues clearly explained and confirmed in the contract, so as to avoid disputes or easily find a basis for the resolution of disputes. That is also why the provisions of west contracts are relatively more detailed and complicated.
On the contrary, domestic contracts are generally rough and simple. Domestic companies lack the tradition and habits that listing all the potential problems as clear and complete as possible in advance in the contracts with the hope that they could find a legal basis after a dispute. However, although China is more likely a civil law country, and has developed a lot of law, but it is far from overall and perfect. As to the ever-changing international trade, our legislation has been lagged behind and the phenomena will be always existed, so the domestic companies face the risk when disputes occurred there are neither detailed and specific contracts, nor corresponding clear provisions of law for the resolution of them.
Therefore, when dealing with Chinese or English documents the companies are required to be familiar with the domestic law, and have rich practical experience, so as to full understand the precise meaning of each term and provision, to avoid ambiguity and misunderstanding, and they also need to detect and identify that if the terms are comprehensive, the rights and obligations of the agreement are clearly stipulated, the law is applicable. Only by this way, can we prevent problems and ensure the smooth completion of transactions.
In view of this, we could provide our clients with high-quality legal English translation services as well as professional legal documents review and revise from the perspective of lawyer, in accordance with the requirements of them. Our services could not only meet the basic needs of complete and accurate translation of our clients, but also free them from the trouble of looking for another professional lawyer with good English skills to conduct the document review.

The translation of English to Chinese is as difficult as Chinese to English. to some extent, it is even more difficult, because it needs a solid foundation of Anglo-American law, but also a strong legal basis and experience in mainland China, especially a good command of Chinese contract drafting. Western legal culture and ideas have been adopted and most manifested by the English contract. In order to achieve an accurate understanding of the contracts, we need to have a considerable understanding of Western legal systems, legal language and legal terms. The finding of the precise expression for the Chinese counterparts is also a very hard test for the legal knowledge and Chinese language skills, as well as the ability to grasp various types of contract.
4. What¡¯s you translation workflow?
Each commissioned translation will be reviewed at least twice. The first draft of the translation is usually conducted by paralegals of our law firm. Every translation text reached to the hands of our clients, is the result of our collective wisdom of the entire team to avoid the negligence and omissions may arise from a single lawyer¡¯ work.
5. Are the translators only responsible for translating, or they are also responsible for contract review?
Each of our team members is first and foremost a lawyer, then a translator, so our translators have the ability to translate and review contracts at the same time in accordance with our workflow as they have a wealth of practical experience of legal affairs and considerable reserves of legal knowledge.

When we think the content should be amended and added, we will directly amend through the word¡¯s revise mark; when we think we should remind customs matters of attention and the places where customs should consider legal risk and make decisions themselves, we will use the comment to list our suggestions for customs¡¯ consideration.
10. After commission, will you communicate with your customs on the draft and review of the contract through telephone or other ways?
We will keep close communication with customs and fully learn the customs¡¯ ideas and intentions to contract. The customs also can use telephone, e-mail and online communication ways to connect and communicate with us and exchange ideas and opinions. Even after the files are deliveries, the customs also can provide opinions about the former working range and we will continue to improve until the customs are satisfied.
11. If the contract needs to be amended over and over again on the changeable situation, what will you deal with and charge more?
To prevent the possible mistakes during the transmission and amendment process, we will send files as PDF to customs. If the customs have any opinions, they can point out to us anytime. To create value for customs is our tenet. If the amendment region is not much, according to the customs¡¯ opinions and our professional judgments, we will amend free and not charge more.
12. Whether you can draft out and review all the contracts in Chinese/English?
Our business scope is just in mainland china, so we only provide our opinions and suggestions to china legal problems. From the considerations of professional ethics and customer benefit, if the laws of mainland china are not applicable to the contracts, under the customs¡¯¡¯ demands, we maybe recommend lawyers from abroad or Hong Kong and Taiwan who have cooperation relationships with us to deal with.
